International Student Exchange (ISE) is ready to help you experience the joy of student exchange.   Be a Host Family for an Exchange student and send them back as a missionary for Jesus. Becoming a host family could be one of the most memorable years your family has ever had! Our mission "to encourage the development of mutual awareness, respect, concern and trust among people from different nations" is made possible by the generosity and hospitality of American families like yours. Without volunteer host families, thousands of students between 15-18 years old would miss out on a life-changing experience. A typical host family is middle class, with at least two members living at home. When volunteering to be a host family, your only obligation is to provide meals and lodging for your new family member. Your student is required to bring $250 per month for his or her own expenses. The IRS also allows a $50 per month deduction from your income taxes for charitable contributions when the student becomes a member of your household. Of course we ask you to treat your student as a member of your family.

Students are selected by IntoEdVentures and our partners in their home countries. The students and their parents have been interviewed and their references checked to determine whether they have the maturity, academic ability, versatility and genuine interest to live in a new country. They receive extensive preparation and orientations before they arrive. Every host family will have the opportunity to choose its student from a diverse group of students. Our Area Representatives will bring you information about several students with interests similar to yours. Select the student that fits your family best. With your high school's approval, we will notify the overseas family of the acceptance. Then letters and phone calls begin, as you both eagerly await the day of arrival.
